Nearly Insane - Salinda Rupp Quilt

These are my blocks for the week. We have company coming so I need to get busy with some things around the house.
I have the blocks out on my background (sashing) with my cornerstones too. I can't wait to start putting this together.
I am adding Salinda Rupp's name to my title when I talk about this quilt. That is the name of the woman who made the original quilt. I feel the need to pay homage to this talented , inspiring woman who created this wonderful quilt in a time when life was a daily struggle. We owe Salinda and many other quiltmakers through history our respect.

Patty, those blocks really are amazing. The women who made these old quilts really are something else. I try to put myself in their place and imagine the world they lived in but it is hard. We have so many things today that would have been luxuries for them.
I quickly found out why there are so many pictures of pets in these blogs. The second I laid my first thing out to be photoed my cat jumped right in. Why would we do anything if it wasn't for their benefit right? I think I will finish my Dear Jane before I ever attempt those impossible squares. Some of the Dear Jane's seem impossible enough. It is great to see you doing them though. Very nice. Love Stacy
